Instructed by his father in the Lord Prophet Abraham Richard Bisaso, Minister Henry Tendo Kaaya took his position at the pulpit to deliver the message of the day titled, “Trust is a knot.”
With reference from the Gospel of Saint John 5:1-8: Sometime later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for the feast of the Jews. 2Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. 3Here a great number of disabled people used to lie-the blind, the lame, the paralysed. 5One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years.
6When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, ‘Do you want to get well?’ 7 ‘Sir,’ the invalid replied, ‘I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While Iam trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.’ 8Then Jesus said to him, ‘Get up!’ Pick up your mat and walk.’ [NIV]
Citing verse 5, minister Kaaya began off by pausing a question to the house of believers, “Why was this man at the pool for a very long time?” It was all because this gentleman had put all his trust in men than in God.
He trusted his friends and mates to throw him in the pool when the water rises. In that way he was knotted never to venture or look for any other alternative hence being tied up at the pool for thirty eight years.
He said that instead of accusing this invalid man of his long delay at the pool let us learn from his experience. Because even today, many “Christians” move from one Church to another in search of healing.
However we have failed to attain it and lived with afflictions for a long time. This is because our trust is in men not God.
We have trusted our families, friends and bosses thinking they will help us to attain what we need in Christ Jesus but have been disappointed time and again. Our trust in men has trapped us to move from our true callings leading failure.
Let us not forget that the people we have put trust in also have their trust in other people. Alas we think they will help us in times of need but we [People] will always put ourselves first for that is our nature.
The more we trust People is the more Christ Jesus distances from us. Trust in People turns into snares and knots that fail us to attain deliverance. So, let us not lock our trust in People for they can never and will never help us genuinely in times of challenges.
On this he expounded that whatever this invalid gentleman was lacking is the same that many Christian are lacking today; faith and trust in God. Our trust and faith is based in People and we have failed to focus on Christ who is able to change our situations.
Even if Christ dresses a body and comes to our rescue, we will not recognize Him. Instead all we choose to do is to blame everyone we trust of being the problem yet in fact we are our own problem. “Your trust is in the wrong place!” minister Kaaya emphasised.
Summing up the message, the minister unveiled that the good news is that Christ is able and willing to change our situations only if we trust Him now. Let us begin by nurturing our trust and belief in God. He is and will always be the best solution giver.
Remember, satan can never stop our healing but he will always use things around us [People, money, sickness] to distract us from attaining it. Now that you know this truth, let us not satan distract us again, focus on the Provider of all solutions-Christ Jesus.
From the faith elevating teaching, the Minister led the house into prayer commanding satan and his agents of to flee from their lives for he is our real enemy.
As seal of approval of the faith prayer the house had made, Prophet Abraham Richard Bisaso thereafter took position at the pulpit and gave a piece to everyone who had listened to the message and prayed.
The Prophet said, “We have been delivered but how can we maintain what we have just received? This is because listening to the Word is not enough, but practising and maintaining is very paramount. Maintaining the deliverance that we have received means we have to keep walking in the same faith in which we received it.
Amidst the challenges that will and must come our way, let us maintain the joy and believing that God will do what He said He will do. That alone is a big blow to the camp of the enemy.“Jesus has declared you free, maintain it.”
As a final act of faith, the Prophet under the instruction of the Spirit of God administered Heavenly water upon the congregation to wrap up the day.
Epilogue: Believer, we believe that with this message, you now know better that whatever situation you are going through; the only person you need to focus on is Christ Jesus.
In addition to that the only way you will maintain what you have received from the LORD is by practising what Christ has bestowed onto. It will weaken your true enemy satan.
Prayer: Holy Spirit of Jesus, help me to maintain what I have received today, to maintain this attitude of joy and faith until I see your Word perfected in my life.
