In the ninth hour of the Sunday service live from True Vine Communion Ministries for All Nations headquarters Kampala –Uganda, Prophet Abraham Richard Bisaso modestly took his stand at the pulpit. In the wake of the believers committing themselves to their maker, the Prophet asked them to forgive themselves and also forgive those who have hurt them; for God never speaks to a heavy and troubled heart.
Relating this message to today’s Christians, the Servant of God again took another reading from the gospel of Saint Mark 7:6; “He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: These people honour me with their lips but their hearts are far from me.” With this he paused a question. What is to honour God with the lips and not the heart? It is talking about something when you do not reflect or mean it. Today many people confess of being “Christians” but their hearts are very far from Christ. It is not about a mere confession but works. You can never be a Christian without Christ. You are only hiding under the umbrella of Christianity but your heart is not in Christ.
For a true Christian, your heart must be Christ’s heart. Meaning, “Love what He loves and hate what He hates then you will be with Him.” Many church goers today are habitual religious men who confess what they do not believe. On the other hand, others believe that some things are so complex that God Himself cannot fathom them. The Prophet added that still many others are typical hypocrites because even when they come to the Lord’s courts, they only utter out lies and phantoms instead of telling God the truth that is in their hearts. He cautioned the believers that prayer is not a style, but a heart speaking to God. God can never do wonders for you unless you believe. If we need to hear God speak to us, we should stop seeking Him with our minds and instead seek Him with clear and truthful hearts. Remember, God is not looking for congregation but a soul (heart) that seeks Him in truth and in spirit; I pray you are that soul, urged the Prophet as he summarized the teaching.
Prayer: Lord Christ I surrender my heart to you, fill it and overcome all my troubles.
