On the 19th of November 2022, the Prophet of God Abraham Richard Bisaso under the guidance of the Holy Spirit took his spiritual stand at the pulpit then spoke to the expecting congregation of believers. These were his words:

“Good morning believers in the name of Christ Jesus, you are welcome in God’s presence today. As we share, take to note, it is very important to have a time for scripture meditation because it refreshes one’s mind.

The Word of God in the book of Romans chapter 12 verse 1-2 encourages us to renew our minds by studying the Word of God.You will come to realise that whatever fills your mind dominates your spirit. Quick question, where do you spend most of your time? If it is listening to the Word of God, then it will be built up in you and influence your character.

Many times, we think that we have changed after being prayed for, well, that is not true. After being prayed for, we are supposed to spend more of our time with God by reading His Word and keeping Christian company.

Without this, you cannot change unless your character changes first. Many people have confessed salvation and have been prayed for but, have failed to maintain the standard because of their poor character which does not blend with their confession.

Change of character is change of life, meaning, your character must change in the four faculties of your life –financially, spiritually, health and family.

Romans 12: 1-2 [NIV]: 1Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true proper worship. 2Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Many of you base your life on the world’s standard. In this I mean, when the LORD through his servants tells you that you are rich, blessed, free etc; you do not believe it because you want to be extremely rich like the rich men of this world. This you are doing is comparing your life to those of the world. Yet you are supposed to compare your life in accordance to the Word of God. Those you are admiring do not have the peace Christ has given you.

So why are you dumping the gift of God and running after what is of the world? You are even grumbling because you do not appreciate what God has given you. Pick this advice from me; you are better off where you are, not where you want to be. If your character is not worked upon, you can never change anything in life.

The solid truth about Christ’s gospel is that it is about character change yet we are after miracles. Remember your character sustains your miracles.

QUESTION: How can one change their character?

ANSWER: By committing most of your time to studying the Word of God and practicing the little you have studied every day. Eventually, it will empower, mature, and change your character because the Word of God is strong enough to change everyone if they give it time.

John chapter 8:31 [NIV]:31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’

In this scripture, the LORD is telling us to depend and walk by His word so that we can be saved. For through it, we are changed and begin seeing things the way He does since He is the solution to everything.

Just like the Word of God has instructed us in gospel of Saint John 8: 31; let us stick to Jesus’ teaching because through it, we shall know the truth and be saved. However, with a double minded person or mind, you will never achieve success even the bible says it [James 1:8].

You need to change your life believer, but this all begins with you giving God time because he alone knows where you are from and where you are going. Even if you are prayed for, if you do not change, these evil spirits will still return to you because you do not have the Word of God that protects your inner man.

As I conclude, Jesus’ family also has a culture that we ought to follow. Unless your character changes, there is no way your life will ever change or you will fit in Jesus’ family; for character brings prosperity or failure in one’s life. May the LORD bless you do not forget to take that reading in the book of Esther chapter 1.

I pray that the LORD can give you a character of prayer.
