By whose authority are you doing it?

As the praise melodies ascended past the Heavenly silver linings and with the believers steaming up from the energetic dance they had just had. Prophet Abraham Richard Bisaso took position at the pulpit.

He began with a piece of advice to the believers saying, “There is no way we can talk about Jesus and His promises to us, without joy in our hearts. Before we come in God’s presence, we should find a reason to be happy, for it annoys God to come with a sad face in His presence.

This is because God is with us in every situation. Therefore whatever challenges we are going through, let our hearts have a voice of the LORD saying Jesus is in this situation with me.’’

is because God is with us in every situation. Therefore whatever challenges we are going through, let our hearts have a voice of the LORD saying Jesus is in this situation with me.’’

Thereafter he led the believers into the message of the day titled “By whose authority are you doing it?’’ With reference from the book of John 9:1-41:  16Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, he does not keep the Sabbath.’’But others said, “How can a sinner do such miraculous signs?’’ So they were divided.17Finally they turned again to the blind man, “What have you to say about him? It was your eyes he opened.’’ The man replied, “He is a prophet.’’ 25He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I know. I was blind but now I see!” (NIV)

So they were divided. 17Finally they turned again to the blind man, “What have you to say about him? It was your eyes he opened.’’ The man replied, “He is a prophet.’’ 25He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I know. I was blind but now I see!” (NIV)

Breaking down this bread of life to all Christians worldwide, the Servant of God said, whenever you take a step of faith to do anything the Spirit of God has told you, get to know that the devil is fighting and challenging your faith.  Take an example, the Pharisees challenged Jesus only when he spat and smeared the blind man with mud and told him to go and wash in the pool of Siloam thus healing him of his blindness.

This is when they came out to challenge Him of His unique way of healing and why He did it on Sabbath. On this the Prophet remarked that if you do not find any challenges in your faith, it means it is not Christ who told you to do it. If people are at ease with your faith, get to know God is not in it.

People should always find fault in the way you worship, they must ask you why you are worshiping that way. However people challenging what you believe does not mean you are wrong. The moment God heals you; satan must stand in your way to stop your faith in Christ Jesus. True believers must have opposers and they are the ones to strengthen you more. They will rise to challenge you from every corner.

The Servant of God remarked, doing something unique in Christ will make your enemies surface asking you, “By whose authority are you doing it?”.  He said do not keep quiet, always speak back by giving them your testimony how you were before and what you are today. Tell them as did the blind beggar that I was blind but now I see.

On this footing, the Prophet took a walk in the book of Acts of Apostles 4:1-10 in which Apostle Peter and John were challenged and seized by the Sadducees for speaking to the people about the resurrection power of Christ Jesus.

The Servant of God remarked that, as it was with Jesus in the gospel of John, the same they asked the Apostles, by whose authority are you doing this? (verse 7) He said, no one could challenge the Apostles back then not until the Holy Spirit was bestowed upon them, guiding them to do miraculous signs and wonders.

This is figuratively with us believers of Christ no one used to question or mind about our faith in the past when we were drunkards, witches, cheats and fornicators.

It is only now that we are redeemed and changed by Christ’s Grace that the world comes out to question our faith. You too believer, you can say you have no enemy but that is religion, step in Christ you will see that even your own mother can be used to challenge your faith.

Look at the Apostles, when Christ Jesus ascended back to Heaven, people thought they were done and they were going back to business but when the Holy Spirit came in, they ran mad in preaching the gospel. They begun taking phenomenal steps of faith and this caused the devil to rise and challenged their faith but they remained firm and persistent in their faith.

On this the Servant of God lamented that this generation is not persistent in what they claim to believe. He said that if you cannot stand now in Christ, you will never stand, because the moment Christ heals you, satan must come to discourage you using physical statures and majority opinions.

Remember, numbers do not tell of God’s presence but we hear God with our hearts and do what He has commanded, for the salvation of our souls.

Epilogue:

Brethren, we believe your faith has been renewed by this beautiful message.  So stay focused, stand firm for you have been revealed to, that if it is God’s Will; satan must use anything and anyone to oppose what you are you doing.

But do not keep quiet speak back to him with your testimony; that I was blind, sick, confused, hopeless etal but Christ redeemed me.
